One Thought

There is something that displeases me about California, and that is the lack of fireflies.

I don't think I've ever actually seen a firefly. Unless the ones at the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland ride count, and I really don't think they do.

Come east and see them...they are best in late July!

They're gross when you squash them (on ACCIDENT people, please don't freak you animal/insect/plants- have-feelings and I only drink socially responsible bottled water left wingers). Irridescent goo.

Isn't there a verse in the Bible about being the fireflies of the world and that the light of a firefly cannot be hidden unless it's in Los Angeles/some sort of sun-scorched land or something? I'm pretty sure there's something in there like that. I learned it in Sunday school. I cross my heart and promise, but no, I won't swear to it.
